can't wait to try unibuilder :)

(+3)

I've been making a 3D game for a while in Godot and been through the whole set of ways to make levels.

From Cyclops, Go build, Just using blender. There were so many issues that like how some used vibe coding and others were just no longer being developed. Blender to Godot for levels is a real drag when I'm trying to quickly playtest.

This seems to be the solution I've been looking for! Id be ready to pay for this too

There is a great article about brush-based maps on Blendogames https://blendogames.com/news/post/2026-08-17-bsp_mapping and an excellent ranty article from Joe Wintergreen on Half-Life Alyx and the Hammer (2) editor, which is eye-opening and looks excellent. I have wondered what has happened to level editors in the past 15? years. https://www.joewintergreen.com/half-life-alyxs-level-design-tools-are-super-grea...

Looks incredible useful and well thought out. Looking forward to a release and a likely purchase.

This looks nice. I have a similar project that I unimaginably called "World Builder". I Built it for a project I'm working on. It has a CSG Builder, Autotiling and holds a mesh library for adding Assests. Worlds can be saved and exported out to as Godot Scenes, Grid Maps or .GLB files. Its good to see someone else building Godot Utilities.

(+3)

soon?

(+2)(-2)

Btw, will you sell it on Godot Asset Store too once paid addons are available there?

(+2)

cant wait for this plugin it looks very high quality, very much needed for some planned projects of mine :D

same. i have a ton of low poly points of interests to make on my map (a bunch of random buildings that need to be unique, like scrap yard, mechanic shop..) and i figured this would be nice to use to build each one in

(1 edit) (+3)(-2)

Thank you for doing this <3
You should take a look at Hammer from Source, TrenchBroom, Scythe for Unreal Engine, and Anvil Level Design for Unity or the same named addon for Blender to get some inspirations of features! (Umodeller and Probuilder on Unity too of course)

(+2)(-5)

Those are terrible, especially Hammer. Please avoid. RealtimeCSG for Unity is similar to this and UModeller is not bad (like Sketchup).

More permanent non-destructive procedural settings for edges would be good, and grouping/unioning and prefabs/repeatable parts.

Valve Hammer Editor, TrenchBroom and J.A.C.K are goated to make maps for counter strike 1.6

he said it’s gonna release in September. dude, it’s September already and we saw nothing.

(+4)

the video is like 5 days old and it's only the 3rd, so he might just be cooking behind the scenes right now, making sure everything is working. stable.

at least that is what we are all hoping  :)

(+3)(-2)

yeah.true. I’m just too excited for it. it’s godsend add-on.

(+11)

"in September" does not mean
"September 1st". Give him a minute.

(+1)

i was literally just dreading making all of the buildings in my new game project... so much content and now i think this is the solution.

I will report back with my time with the demo (when it is ready) and am awaiting the full release <3

i am 99% certain im buying this lol

Hi, this looks cool and I'm interested in this, but I would like to know your AI policy? Was generative AI used to make this?

Author Calin Leafshade

Content No generative AI was used

(1 edit) (+2)

I'm keen to test it. Already running a fork with heavily modified CSG nodes to try and improve their UX, but someone else doing it would be *much* better ;)

(+3)

I am so excited for this!

(+3)

When is the release ? I'm so hyped

(+1)

Just saw your videon on youtube, would really like to test unibuilder out!

(+1)

This looks fantastic! I'll throw my hat in the ring for beta testing, this seems perfect for my current project.

Would love to beta test this!

Hi, your tool looks incredible!
Two questions, if I may.
1st, is there a demo I could try? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
2nd, whats the pricing gonna be approx?

Anyways looks amazing and I cant wait to test it!

(1 edit) (+1)

Demo will be out in a few days. I think I heard it will be about $20 for the full version.

That would be in the same ballpark as https://www.aseprite.org/ , nice!

Hi, i would like to beta test this level editor.

I would also really like to try this please :)

Would love to beta test!

Would love to beta test!

Please consider making it compatible with Godot 4.6 as that's what's supported by W4 for console ports right now. Also I want to beta test.
